Urban Couple’s Session in Downtown Yuma | Laisa & Aaron
Some love stories don’t need a traditional setting. They simply need a couple ready to have fun, an unexpected location, and the perfect light to transform an ordinary place into something extraordinary.
For their couple’s session, Laisa and Aaron chose a unique location: the Yuma County Courthouse parking garage in the heart of Downtown Yuma. Surrounded by architectural lines, concrete walls, and the warm glow of golden hour, we created a modern and authentic gallery filled with personality.
A Love Story with an Urban Style
From the beginning, Laisa and Aaron brought a relaxed energy and a clear vision: they wanted photographs that felt different and reflected who they are as a couple.
Their casual outfits complemented the urban setting perfectly. During the first part of the session, their light-colored tops and jeans created a fresh, modern look. Later, they changed into baseball jerseys, adding a fun and personal touch to their photographs.
Instead of focusing only on traditional poses, the session was centered around their connection—walking together, exchanging glances, holding hands, and simply enjoying the moment. Those small gestures made every image feel natural and genuinely theirs.
Golden Hour Photography in Yuma
We planned the session during golden hour, when the sun begins to set and the light becomes warm and soft.
Inside the parking garage, sunlight streamed through the openings in the structure, creating dramatic shadows, bold contrasts, and geometric patterns. The combination of light and architecture allowed us to create photographs with a cinematic and editorial feel.
As the sun moved closer to the horizon, we also explored the rooftop of the parking garage. From there, the open sky and Arizona mountains appeared in the distance, adding depth and a touch of Yuma’s desert landscape to their story.
Why Choose an Urban Location for Your Couple’s Session?
A parking garage may seem like a simple location, but with the right light and a creative vision, it can become an incredible setting.
The courthouse parking garage in Yuma offers minimalist walls, open spaces, defined architectural lines, and different levels overlooking the city. Every corner provides an opportunity to create original compositions and experiment with perspective.
Urban locations are perfect for couples who want photographs that feel modern, casual, and different. They also make it easy to incorporate personal elements—like Laisa and Aaron’s clothing choices—while keeping the emotional connection at the center of every image.

A Different Session for an Authentic Couple
Laisa and Aaron’s session proves that meaningful photography isn’t defined by the location alone. What matters most is the couple’s story and the genuine connection they share in front of the camera.
Surrounded by concrete, dramatic shadows, baseball jerseys, and the golden light of sunset, we created urban images that feel modern, intimate, and intentional. It was an evening filled with creativity and genuine moments in one of Downtown Yuma’s most unexpected locations.
