David spent the beginning of the day getting ready alongside his closest friends. These moments always bring a special energy to a wedding: a combination of laughter, friendship, and the quiet realization that the day everyone has been waiting for has finally arrived.
The historic rooms at The Church created a timeless setting for his portraits. Warm sunlight entered through the windows, highlighting the textures of the venue and giving the photographs a dramatic, cinematic feeling.
David’s gray suit and mint-green accents stood out beautifully against the dark walls, antique furniture, artwork, and rich wood details. After capturing a few individual portraits, we brought his friends together for a classic group photograph that reflected both their personalities and the bond they share.
Dalia’s Morning Surrounded by Family
In another part of the venue, Dalia prepared for the day surrounded by her family. The atmosphere felt warm, joyful, and full of anticipation.
Before she stepped into her wedding dress, we created bridal portraits that captured her excitement and natural beauty. The soft window light, antique furnishings, framed artwork, and floral details gave the room an elegant character without taking attention away from her.
Her family’s presence made this part of the day even more meaningful. Getting ready is never simply about putting on a dress—it is a collection of small moments shared with the people who have been part of the bride’s story long before the wedding day.

Dalia’s dress looked beautiful hanging outdoors among the desert plants, while her shoes became part of an artistic composition beneath one of the venue’s ornate paintings. The warm light surrounding the wedding rings gave them a timeless and romantic appearance.

Portraits Focused on Dalia and David
Once Dalia and David were together, everything else seemed to disappear.
Their portraits were centered on their connection—the way they looked at one another, the closeness between them, and the joy of finally experiencing the day they had imagined together. The arches, chandeliers, mirrors, dark walls, and warm interior lighting at The Church helped create photographs that felt intimate, elegant, and cinematic.
One of my favorite images shows Dalia and David holding their wedding rings beneath the glowing chandelier. Another captures their reflection in a mirror, smiling at one another as if they were completely alone.
To finish their wedding story, we stepped outside at night and created a dramatic silhouette in front of the venue. With The Church illuminated behind them, the final portrait became a quiet and romantic ending to this part of their day.

The Church: A Historic Venue is one of my favorite places to photograph weddings, events, and portrait sessions in Yuma, Arizona.
Every room has its own personality. The historic architecture, vintage furniture, ornate frames, chandeliers, mirrors, dramatic arches, and rich textures offer endless creative possibilities. Natural window light works beautifully for soft and romantic portraits, while the darker spaces are perfect for more dramatic images.
What I love most is that the venue feels elegant and full of history while still allowing each couple’s personality to remain at the center of the photographs. It is easily one of my top locations in Yuma, and I always enjoy the opportunity to create something different here.
